Do you ever wonder what’s the difference between a sidereal month and a synodic month in astronomy?
A sidereal month is 27.3 days long. It is the time it takes the Moon to turn on its axis and also orbit the Earth.
A synodic month, or lunar month, is 29.5 days long. It is the time required for the Moon’s phases to repeat.
